Anthony Pappa Returns in October

Undoubtedly one of the worlds best DJ's, Anthony Pappa returns to Sydney on Saturday 28th October to play Sweetchilli at The Basement. He's been at the forefront of the international dance music scene for more than 10 years and having already acheived so much, it's hard to believe Pappa is still only 33 years of age!A DJ at the age of 13 and a DMC champion at 15, Anthony Pappa had more than a promising start to his career. By 19 he won a life changing competition in Mixmag, earning him his first trip to the UK for a gig at the prestigious Ministry of Sound.
Dave Seaman impressed with Anthony’s passion and natural talent with music, snapped Anthony up immediately. Over the next four years Anthony’s DJing profile shot thought the roof, but he didnt rest on his Laurels... Teaming up with Alan Bremner, Anthony launched himself into studio work as Freefall, leading to the massive club and chart hit, “Skydive” plus countless Remixes.
Since then Anthony has tirelessly toured the world to push his tough take on electronic music to virgin crowds. Production work has become an equally important area of his career with singles and remixes typifying his sound being created on an increasingly faster rate along side current studio partner, Barry Gilbey.
Anthony’s mix albums for Global Underground’s “Nubreed”, EQ’s “Balance” and albums with React and Renaissance have added an even more complex facet to his career. His impeccable mixing, programming and dance floor sensibilities have transferred perfectly on to cds – a fact which has been proved by the reactions to the mixes (not to mention the sales figures!). Pappa’s Nubreed album is still talked about today and it is testament to the regard in which he is held that Global Underground chose him to mix the first in the series.
His affable and genuine character, a grueling DJ schedule and studio forays combine to make Anthony one of the most suitable ambassadors for dance music in the world today.
